Setting the Standard
Through education, advocacy, and collaboration, we shape the future of cosmetic medicine in New Zealand.
Our Mission
Over 25 years ago, NZSCM was founded by a small group of forward-thinking doctors who saw the need for regulation, education, and safety in a field that was rapidly growing but largely unregulated. Their vision has shaped what is now New Zealand’s leading professional body in cosmetic medicine.
To ensure the public receives safe, ethical, and medically appropriate cosmetic treatments by:
- Educating and certifying doctors through a rigorous postgraduate training programme.
- Maintaining high ethical and clinical standards, aligned with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
- Empowering patients with access to clear, unbiased, evidence-based information.
- Collaborating with regulators, responsible authorities and international bodies to lead the advancement of cosmetic medicine.
We believe that cosmetic medicine should be held to the same standards as any other area of healthcare. Patient dignity, safety, and cultural wellbeing are central to all we do.
