The program is an excellent mixture of learning, practical application, personal challenge and support that goes above and beyond.

Dr Paul Nola makes sure that we are not taught a cookie-cutter approach to cosmetic medicine. We are taught how to think for ourselves, critically appraise the evidence, and treat every patient uniquely.

Dr Nelia Lourens
New Plymouth

Great systematic way of teaching anatomy, safety, and different modalities to do with aesthetic practice. Helped me fill knowledge gaps and feel confident that I am providing a high standard of care to my patients. Supportive community and helpful in getting feedback on my own injecting.

The NZSCM training program is fantastic, and I highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in aesthetic medicine and facial anatomy. The teaching is top notch and you get hands-on training with accurate feedback on how to improve your injecting/clinical skills.

Membership FAQs

Who can become a Member of NZSCM?

Membership is open to doctors who have completed the NZSCM Diploma of Cosmetic Medicine or an approved experiential pathway, and who hold vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Members must also meet the requirements set out in the NZSCM Constitution, including being of good character and committing to the Society’s professional and ethical standards.

What are the benefits of Membership?

Members are part of a recognised professional body, with access to ongoing education, events, and peer support. You can vote in Society elections, receive a rebate on your conference subscription, and display the accredited NZSCM doctor badge to show patients you meet recognised standards.

What are the obligations of Members?

Members must keep their practicing certificate and indemnity insurance current, complete regular professional development, complete triennial practice visits, pay subscriptions, and follow NZSCM’s Code of Conduct.

What happens if I stop practicing? Can I re-join?

Yes. You can put your membership on hold. To reinstate full membership later, you’ll need to meet certain requirements to show you are up to date and competent before returning to practice. The terms for reinstatement are set out in the NZSCM Constitution and bylaws.

Can I display the NZSCM badge?

Yes. Full members can display the accredited NZSCM doctor badge to show they are trained, accountable, and committed to safe, ethical practice.
