The NZSCM Membership

Membership of NZSCM is open to doctors who have successfully completed the NZSCM Diploma of Cosmetic Medicine or the approved experiential pathway. It represents more than belonging to a professional body. It is a recognised mark of clinical expertise, ethical practice, and commitment to patient care.

Why Membership Matters

Being an NZSCM member means:

  • You are formally recognised by the Medical Council of New Zealand as vocationally registered in cosmetic medicine.

  • You join a network of peers who share the same high standards of safety, integrity, and professional development.

  • You contribute to shaping the future of cosmetic medicine in Aotearoa New Zealand through education, advocacy, and collaboration.

Pathway to Membership

  • Diploma Graduates: On completion of the NZSCM Diploma and practice visit assessment, doctors are invited to apply for full membership.

  • Experiential Pathway: Experienced doctors who meet NZSCM’s criteria may apply through a recognised pathway that involves assessment and approval by the Board.

Ongoing Standards

NZSCM members commit to maintaining high clinical and ethical standards through:

  • Regular continuing professional development (CPD) and education.

  • Triennial audits of practice, record-keeping, and compliance with NZSCM standards.

  • Adherence to the NZSCM Code of Conduct, aligned with national medical ethics.
