Advocating for Safe, Ethical Cosmetic Medicine
Patient safety and informed decision-making are at the heart of everything we do.
Patient Advocacy
At NZSCM, patient safety, dignity, and informed decision-making are central to everything we do. We are committed to helping the public make safe, informed choices by promoting high standards of care, professional accountability, and access to trusted, accredited doctors.
We provide general guidance to support understanding of cosmetic medicine, but if you require individual medical advice or treatment recommendations, please reach out to one of our NZSCM-accredited doctors directly.
Our Advocacy Principals
Evidence-Based Care
We only offer training in treatments and products that are clinically validated and approved by regulators such as Medsafe, the TGA, or the FDA.
Transparent Information
We offer unbiased, evidence-based resources to help the public understand cosmetic medicine and the importance of choosing a qualified, medically trained provider.
Informed Consent
NZSCM-accredited doctors are trained in ethical consultation, communication, and cultural safety. Patients are fully informed of the risks, benefits, and alternatives before treatment begins.
Practitioner Accountability
NZSCM-accredited members must uphold rigorous clinical and ethical standards. If a concern arises, we provide a clear complaints process and cooperate with the Medical Council of New Zealand where necessary.
We actively advocate for regulation that prioritises patient wellbeing ensuring that only qualified, accredited doctors perform cosmetic medical procedures in Aotearoa New Zealand.
If you are considering treatment, we encourage you to consult directly with an NZSCM-accredited doctor.
