About the Injection Anatomy Lab Workshop

We’re excited to announce the rescheduled date for our Injection Anatomy Lab Day, now taking place on Saturday, 24 May 2025, at the University of Auckland Medical School. This Lab Day, now in its third year, offers a unique, hands-on opportunity to dive deep into human anatomy with expert guidance from leading specialists across New Zealand and Australia.

Saturday: An Immersive Dissection Experience

On Saturday, participants will rotate through six interactive dissection stations, each with a different focus:

-        The medial cheek with Dr Zac Moaveni, plastic surgeon

-        The orbit and tear trough with Dr Paul Rosser, oculoplastic surgeon

-        The lips and chin with Dr Duncan Bayne, plastic surgeon

-        Revisiting muscle anatomy for toxin treatment

-        The anatomy of safe and effective skin booster treatment

-        And more

Every  station is led by an NZSCM injector to ensure that maximum educational value is derived.

Stations are designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the key anatomical structures relevant to cosmetic medicine. Under the guidance of expert trainers, you’ll have the chance to explore blood vessels, muscle networks, nerves, and more, all in an immersive, hands-on setting. This experience goes beyond traditional textbooks, helping you gain critical insights and refine your clinical skills.

Sunday: Practical Cosmetic Medicine Emergency Medicine Training

On Sunday, 25 May 2025, the workshop continues at Cordis Auckland on Symonds Street from 8:30 am until lunchtime. The focus will shift to emergency medicine, with a comprehensive course led by Dr Sean Ardense. He will cover essential life-saving techniques needed in cosmetic practice, teaching you how to identify early warning signs of serious medical conditions and respond effectively to emergencies before professional help arrives. Key topics include anaphylaxis, epileptic seizures, cardiac events, and eye injuries.

Following this, participants will take part in a vital hands-on Hyalase session, led by Dr Sarah Hart. This session will provide essential, real-time practical training to help you manage complications and so you're fully equipped to handle urgent situations during treatments.

What You'll Learn

This workshop provides a multi-faceted learning experience. On Saturday, you’ll deepen your anatomical knowledge and clinical skills, enhancing your ability to identify and work with critical structures in the human body. On Sunday, you’ll gain the cosmetic emergency response skills necessary to manage medical crises in cosmetic practice, ensuring you’re prepared for situations that may arise.

CPD/CME Accreditation

This event is accredited for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Continuing Medical Education (CME) points. Participants will be eligible to claim CME credits upon completion of the workshop. A certificate will be provided following the event.
